Your Future Self As Your Coach

Imagine having a coach who embodies the person you aspire to be. A figure who guides you with wisdom, insight, and an understanding of your goals. This concept of using your future self as a coach can be powerful and transformative.

Start by creating a clear picture of who you want to become. Imagine the traits, habits, and mindset of this future version of yourself. What does this person value? How do they approach challenges? By defining these attributes, you set a clear vision of the person you’re working towards.

Next, make the habit of having conversations with your future self. Ask questions about your current challenges and decisions. For instance, if you’re unsure about a career move, ask your future self how they would approach this situation. What advice would they give? This dialogue helps you tap into a mindset that’s already achieved the goals you’re striving for. Use your coach for problem-solving. When facing obstacles, channel the wisdom of your future self. Reflect on how they would handle the situation. This approach not only provides clarity but also motivates you to act in ways that are consistent with your long-term vision. It’s about bridging the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

Once you have a sense of how your future self would act, start integrating those behaviours into your daily life. If your future self is a decisive leader, practice making decisions more confidently. If they are known for their creativity, find ways to cultivate your own creative skills. By embodying these traits, you align your present actions with your future aspirations.

As you progress, reflect on how your actions are bringing you closer to your future self. Celebrate milestones and adjust your approach based on new insights. Your future self’s guidance will evolve as you grow, and regularly reevaluating your journey ensures that you stay aligned with your goals.

Bridge the gap between who you are and who you want to become. By envisioning this ideal version of yourself and engaging in an ongoing dialogue, you create a roadmap for success that is inspiring and actionable. Keep a reminder in sight, so that you can reach out to your coach whenever you need advice.

Always Assume The Problem Is You

I once heard a dialogue that went something like this: "I hope that everything bad that happens in my life is my fault." When asked why someone would say this, the answer was particularly refreshing: "Because then, it means that I can do something about it." I feel that sometimes, people have a difficult time admitting their own faults in things that go on in their life, work, and even relationships. Keep reading...

The 3 Dragons

Every day I fight 3 dragons! Nothing more, nothing less. These dragons are just the embodiment of the three tasks in my list that, if completed, move my projects forward in a big way. The three tasks that make the most difference in my objectives. A dragon is something that makes a big difference, it is powerful, it's not indifferent. Dragons symbolize challenges, demanding attention and effort. By tackling these dragons, I direct my energy toward what truly matters, making my routine purposeful. Keep reading...
